It’s the 3rd day of Seafood week and today we’re celebrating our #seafoodhero, Lee Humphries from Fish Kitchen 1854.
Lee took the time to answer some questions about the importance of Seafood week and what his business is doing to celebrate, here’s what he had to say.
We do a Seafood Special that is a mix of Prawns, Squid Chunks, Calamari and Cod Bites. We also take pride in offering different Seafood Supper Specials each week. These have included Old School Hake, Calamari, Homemade Scampi, Brill, Bream, Seabass and Salmon, just to name a few. We also enjoy making our own Fishcakes with different species ranging from Mackerel to Salmon.
The nutritional value, it’s all part of having a balanced diet and variety is important. There are so many different fish we could include in our diets that we don’t even think about and taste amazing.
Try and be creative with new daily specials, featuring specific fish for each special we do, some of these will include seabream, seabass, squid, grilled salmon, rock salmon and local cockles.
Seafood week helps to educate customers about other varieties of fish, and to raise more awareness of the health benefits that come with them. It also highlights the important of sustainable fish and the future of this industry. It also helps to get more education for children about the food they eat.
Fish Kitchen 1854 is an exciting place to be this week but if you can’t visit them in-store why not support them on social media?
Don’t forget! Tag us in your social media posts about Seafood week for the chance to win a hamper full of treats and goodies!
