Florigo recently took the opportunity to support the future friers of our industry and arranged a trip for the talented Young Fish Friers finalists to our factory in Holland.
We welcomed Young Friers Kat Deuchars, Lisa Lishman, Ryan Hughes, Amy Grimwood, Rachel Tweedale, Amanpal Dhesi, Jonny Leech and James Houlston on this trip alongside Briar and Kenneth Wilkinson from Drywite, Mark Drummond and Jennifer Durrans from the NFFF as well as Rafael Chandler, NFFF Executive Councillor and Florigo Trainer!
The Dutch factory flew Union Jacks in front of the factory to welcome the group on their visit and showed them true Dutch hospitality with goodie bags filled with Florigo memorabilia as well as Dutch delicacies after their long journey! The group were able to able to fry and try Dutch snacks such as Kibbeling on a Dutch style range in the factory’s test kitchen as well as get an in-depth tour of the factory itself, getting a real close-up view of the current ranges being built, ready to be shipped to all around the UK and beyond. The Dutch team were on-hand to show the group all of their state-of-the-art machinery and to explain in detail the work that goes on behind building one of the best ranges in our industry.
The day was then finished off with a bit of sightseeing in Amsterdam with a tour along the city’s iconic canals and then a meal in Bier Fabriek, a micro-brewery that specialises in charcoal grilled free range chicken!
